Games to teach him to draw

Drawing captivates children, stimulates their concentration and promotes their creativity. Our selection of games to teach him step by step the basics of drawing or improve his technique.

Drawing lessons for all ages! If your child has a real interest in drawing and wants to improve their technique, they’ll probably be happy to take lessons. Before the age of 6, prefer drawing workshops (Atelier du Petit Chemin in Paris, Henri Matisse in Lyon) adapted to kindergarten children: they will learn to draw through play, which will awaken their imagination and their creative sense. These are fun workshops during which they can discover colors, improve their notion of space and 3D.

From 6 to 11 years old, children are generally a little more focused and can learn more advanced techniques. This is an opportunity to introduce them to painters (Picasso, Keith Haring often appeal to children!), visual artists, sculptors, designers, as well as the various artistic currents.

From the age of 12, pre-teens can use drawing as a means of expression: landscapes, observational sketches, imaginative drawings, painting… More specific courses such as learning to draw comics, manga or caricatures are provided in several cities in France. Last tip: once the drawing is finished, talk with your child about the shapes, colors or symbolism of his drawing: not only will he be proud to see that you are interested in it, but it will encourage him to develop his vocabulary. and its arguments!
