Games page shows 3 minutes of gameplay from a boss fight – commentary is more brutal than the fight

Redfall is a new vampire shooter from Arkane Studios, distributed by Bethesda. Redfall is said to be made for single player and co-op fans, it will be released on May 2 for PC and Xbox Series X. PlayStation 5 players will be left empty-handed after Microsoft bought Bethesda. Now there was gameplay from a boss fight and nasty comments.

This is what we know about Redfall:

  • In Redfall, players must defend themselves against a vampire plague. You fight alone or with up to 4 players in the co-op shooter against the gentlemen and ladies with the nice fangs.
  • MeinMMO author Maik Schneider has already alluded to Redfall and says: It’s “looting and leveling with crazy weapons and characters”. It reminds him a lot of Borderlands.
  • The world is exciting, he judges, but Redfall has its weaknesses in gameplay. The gun battles weren’t much fun, the controls were bad. There is still a lot to improve.

    This is the new gameplay now: The US site IGN released a 3 minute video showing a boss fight on Good Friday April 7th. 3 players fight against “The Rook”, a vampire. The battle takes place on a farm, many effects can be seen.

    The player we’re looking at this from often runs away. Especially when his teammates die, he takes on the thankless task of buying time, distracting the boss, and has his hands full.

    Players are mercilessly picking apart the new Redfall gameplay

    How is this commented? The comments on YouTube are brutal and mostly deal with the way the poor devil who records the video plays:

  • “It has to be said, IGN makes every game they play look excruciating.”

  • “Honestly, if IGN decides to show the guy’s gameplay footage, it makes me wonder what the others were playing together.”

  • “Why are you fighting a huge boss in a crowded house? Why are you running away from the boss and firing at adds while your team is dying? Instead of rezzing your teammates, why would you open a locked door in the middle of a fight? Why are you throwing a translocator and not using it? Why are you shooting a sniper at an enemy right in front of you? Why are you allowed to use the Killing-Blow when you hardly managed anything?”

    • Memo to self: Never record video footage of me playing anything other than strategy games and even then someone will come along and tell me I married the wrong cousin in Crusader Kings 3! Miserable backseat gamers!
