When checking the PC, it becomes apparent that a number of components are either damaged or completely broken:

  • The CPU is severely damaged and possibly broken.
  • The motherboard works, but some connectors are visibly damaged.
  • The water cooling is broken and can no longer be used.
  • The glass plate of the case is broken and the shards are lying around inside the PC.
  • But at least some parts survived:

  • The WiFi connection should work.
  • The hard drives also seem fine.
  • He was very lucky with the graphics card because it arrived in a separate box.
  • You should not accept damaged packages

Sometimes damage is only partially visible externally. If you open the package at home and notice any damage, you should report it quickly. You can complain about damage to the package contents up to seven days after receipt.

By the way, consumer advocates recommend unpacking the package in the presence of the delivery person (via verbraucherzentrale-niedersachsen.de). With the signature, the recipient not only confirms receipt, but also that the package arrived neatly and in good condition.

But opening it in the presence of the delivery person is not always possible, as we can report from our own experience. Delivery people often refuse to be there and point out that their superiors have regulations or that if you have any problems you should contact the company directly. However, this is of little help if the package is either broken or the hardware is even missing.

If something like this happens to you: Contact the seller and the shipping company directly so that you don’t end up paying for damages for which you are not responsible:
