A gamer found an Nvidia graphics card in the trash, but not just any, but probably a prototype of what is probably the fastest gaming GPU of all time.
What was fished out of the trash here? Reddit user This_Explanation_514 posted several pictures in the Nvidia subreddit of a huge graphics card, four slots wide, high and so long that many cases are afraid – and the design is unmistakable: Nvidia Founders Edition.
According to his report, he found them in the trash. Reddit and we also clearly recognize a legend in this: the Nvidia Geforce RTX 4090 Ti, which was leaked several times as part of the Nvidia 4000 series – also known as the “TITAN successor”. The Reddit user may have found the fastest gaming GPU ever in the trash.
However, the Nvidia Geforce RTX 4090 Ti has never been officially released, even though it has been seen in leaks several times in the past (via wccftech).

What kind of card is this exactly? The prototype of an Nvidia Geforce RTX 4090 Ti that appears here (but has never been officially confirmed) would be the successor to the Nvidia TITAN RTX. This was the best card in Nvidia’s 2000 series and cost 2,700 euros when it was released (via computerbase).
An Nvidia Geforce RTX 4090 Ti would probably far eclipse the TITAN RTX. The basic version alone costs just under 2,700 euros on Amazon today. An old Titan RTX is available used on Ebay for around 800 euros.
Why is the graphics card so big? The dimensions of the card are explained by a different fan design in order to dissipate the enormous waste heat. In addition, the heat sink itself is simply larger. The card is about twice as big as an old “Titan” and a few centimeters longer and thicker than the Nvidia Geforce RTX 4090.
Why was the 4090 Ti never released? Nvidia has never commented publicly on this. But it seems as if there was never a reason to bring a card with performance beyond the Geforce RTX 4090 onto the market. The latter is by far the fastest gaming GPU to date, as data from Techpowerup shows. Only Nvidia’s upcoming announcement and release of the 5000 series in 2025 is likely to change this situation.
