A user buys a used RTX 2060 for a 10. The community thinks that’s strange and keeps their fingers crossed for him. But then comes the surprise: Because the cheap graphics card actually works.
Graphics cards are currently quite expensive. And with the announcement of the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090, prices haven’t necessarily come down. The tendency is rather that in the future the prices for graphics cards will be well over 1,000 euros – at least if Nvidia has its way.
But with the high prices, there are also a few surprises. A gamer has now bought an RTX 2060 for 10 euros. After all, this is a mid-range graphics card with which you can easily play at high resolutions such as WQHD and even have a few small reserves for features such as ray tracing.
Despite the high prices, scalpers try to earn a lot. But some now end up on the nose, because the price has probably been misjudged:
Scalpers are desperately trying to sell RTX 4080 dearly – are now sitting on it because dealers do not want the graphics cards back
300 euro graphics card for only 10 euros – “It almost certainly doesn’t work”
What exactly did the gamer buy? In his thread on reddit, he explains that he bought an RTX 2060 from a used dealer for 10 US dollars (around 10 euros). He also proves this with a receipt. You can currently get an RTX 2060 in stores for an average of around 300 euros (via geizhals.de). The prices for the Strix Edition of the RTX 2060 purchased by the user are more between 500 and 600 euros.
Incidentally, the gamer did not have high hopes for the price. As he writes himself: “It almost certainly won’t work, but I’m willing to try it at this price.”
The community is surprised at the low price. Some wonder which shop would come up with the idea of selling such a graphics card for a fraction of its price. Because even on eBay you would get more money for a used RTX 2060.
The graphics card for 10 euros works, but was too big
How does the story end? In another post on reddit, the buyer explains what happened to his used graphics card. He has now installed it in his system and the RTX 2060 actually works.
But there was one problem: The RTX 2060 was too big, so he first had to remove a fan in his system in order to be able to test the graphics card.
How is the community reacting? She is surprised and at least a little jealous of the user’s luck. Because only having to spend 10 euros for a working RTX 2060 is a real stroke of luck. As someone writes (via reddit.com):
A really good find. I just upgraded from this exact card and I am going to sell mine for no less than 200.
Another user quips: “I’ll give you $15. That’s a 50% gain. Pretty good deal if you ask me.”

But sometimes even the latest and fastest graphics card can cause problems. This is how a gamer bought the currently fastest graphics card:
