GameCube Games May Be Released for Switch 2

Nintendo Switch 2 Technical Specifications Revealed

Nintendo may bring back GameCube games for Switch 2. Rumor has it that new remaster projects will be released on Switch 2 in 2025.

More GameCube games may be coming back from Nintendo. A new rumor claims that Nintendo will be releasing remakes of some games originally released on the GameCube for its upcoming Switch 2 console.

New GameCube Remake Games on Switch 2

Last week, Nintendo released the remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door on Switch. This game first came to GameCube in 2004 and was a huge success with its re-release on Switch. Following this success, Nintendo is thought to continue its strategy of bringing back GameCube games in the coming years.

According to the news from the YouTube channel PH Brazil, which has made accurate Nintendo news in the past, a GameCube game from the past will be released on Switch 2 in the future. It was not shared what the GameCube game in question was, but it was stated that this game will be released on Switch 2 after March 2025 at the earliest. As for when Nintendo will announce this remaster, it will not be announced at the next Direct event in June 2025. However, this is to be expected, considering Nintendo has already informed fans that it won’t be talking about the Switch 2 during the upcoming Direct.

It is not yet clear when Nintendo will make a statement about Switch 2. In fact, it hasn’t even been confirmed that Switch 2 is the name of Nintendo’s next console. For now, officials from the Japanese game publisher have only stated that the next hardware will be a new model of the current Switch, which means the Switch 2 naming convention is reasonable. Either way, more details about Nintendo’s next console will emerge in the coming months, especially since the Switch 2 is reportedly set to launch in early 2025.
