Finally it’s time for the football European Championship for the ladies!
This year’s European Championship is decided in several different cities in Switzerland.

It is time for the Football Championship 2025 in Switzerland and the Swedish women’s team comes to the championship with high expectations. The last major championship ended in the World Cup bronze for Sweden in 2023.

The summer tournament will also be the league captain Peter Gerhardssons Last with the national team, after having had the coach job since 2017.

When is the football European Championship?

The European Football Championships in Switzerland will be decided during July 2-27 and will be played in eight different locations in Switzerland. The European Championship final takes place on Sunday 27 July and is played at St. Jakob park in Basel.

Where is the European Football Championships appear?

It is not yet clear which TV channel shows the European Championships for the summer this summer. It stands between SVT, TV4 and Viaplay.

Group A: Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Finland

Group B: Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Italy

Group C: Germany, Poland, Denmark, Sweden

Group D: France, England, Wales, Netherlands

The two best teams in each group move on to the playoffs.

Sweden’s European Championship squad:

The women’s national team has not yet published their squad for the European Championships.

So it went in the European Championships 2022:

Sweden went through the group play in the Football Championship 2022 in England. They also managed to win the quarterfinals against Belgium by 1-0, but then fell in the semi-finals against the host nation England by 0-4. There was no bronze match either, it never does in the European Championships.

Sweden then took the World Cup bronze at the Soccer World Cup 2023 in Australia/New Zealand. After losing the semi-final against Spain by 1-2 they won the bronze match against Australia by 2-0
