Only a few days separate us from the start of the second season of House of the Dragon. However, the dragon-heavy prequel is just one of many spin-offs that were planned by the US broadcaster HBO after the success of Game of Thrones.
One of them was or is a Prequel project titled 10,000 Shipswhich now has a breath of fresh air with a new script captain on board.
The Game of Thrones prequel 10,000 Ships has a new author: Will the story of Queen Nymeria become a series after all?
Fantasy author George RR Martin confirmed that the prequel series with the working title 10,000 Ships is still on the table, something director Brian Helgeland also recently hinted at. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pulitzer Prize winner Eboni Booth, who has made a name for herself outside of television with stage plays such as Primary Trust, has been hired for the project.

Queen Nymeria in the animated bonus material
GRRM raves about Booth on his personal blog:
She is an incredibly talented playwright and a joy to work with; when she is not producing award-winning plays on and off Broadway, she is busy working with me and HBO on new pilots for 10,000 ships a Game of Thrones spin-off about Nymeria and the Rhoynar. We’re all really looking forward to it… although we still have to figure out how to pay for 10,000 ships, 300 dragons, and those giant turtles.
The potential GoT spin-off is about Queen Nymeria of the Rhoynar peoplewho came from Essos to Dorne several thousand years before the events of Game of Thrones to escape the Dragon Lords of Valyria. Living and fighting on the waters, they search for a new home. Helgeland compared the story to the Israelites leaving Egypt.
