Culture, history and private collections become history in the Ukrainian War, in which thousands of people lost their lives.
It is really difficult to make sense of the Ukraine War that broke out in the north of our country. Of course, it is a fact that some calculations were made and this business was involved and the innocent people living there were not taken into account.
It is not for us to talk about the political aspect of the matter, but unfortunately, in this war, which took place in front of the whole world, as in all other wars in many parts of the world and in which some countries shut their eyes, unfortunately, thousands of people died and millions of people left their homes and countries. No matter where you hold it, there is a sad picture before us. On the other hand, in this war, a whole history, culture and museum collections become history, as well as people.
Game collection made in 20 years was destroyed in the Ukrainian bombardment
According to a post from a Facebook account named it8bit, a large game collection in Ukraine has been destroyed as a result of the bombardment of Russia. According to the information given, it was stated that more than 500 consoles and computers, which took more than 20 years to collect and were released between 1950 and 2000, were destroyed by a bomb. In the statement, it is said that the Maripul Computer Museum in Ukraine was largely destroyed by a bomb.
Frankly, the collection business is a difficult and time-consuming job. As you know, we have been aiming to open a game museum in our country for years, even though we cannot implement it as Merlin’s Cauldron. There are nearly a thousand pieces in our collection. But it is really difficult to bring this kind of museum to life. Apart from the devastating situation of the war, the destruction of an already established museum wherever it is in the world is a very sad situation.
