Just a few weeks after the long-awaited arrival of the Galaxy S22, its high-end smartphones (see our article), Samsung unveiled its much more accessible mid-range models, the Galaxy A. The presentation made online this Thursday 17 March was an opportunity for the Korean manufacturer to refocus this range on the daily needs of its users. 5G connectivity, autonomy, powerful processor, artificial intelligence-enhanced photo modules… there is no shortage of seductive assets for a price that is still just as contained.

What’s new in the Galaxy A range?

The Galaxy A33 and A53 share many commonalities. The two mobiles thus benefit from an IP67 certification which allows them to be immersed in water at a depth of one meter for thirty minutes. Also for more safety, they are protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass on the front to ward off bad falls. In addition, the two devices are powered by the same Exynos 1280 in-house processor and benefit from a 5000 mAh battery compatible with 25 W fast charging.

The A33 for its part is satisfied with a main module of 48 Mpx, an ultra wide-angle of 8 Mpx, and a macro module at 5 Mpx. Also note that the depth sensor for taking portraits of 5 Mpx on the A53 goes to 2 Mpx on the A33. Finally, on the front also the photo modules for selfies stand out. There is thus a 32 Mpx sensor on the A53 and a sensor of only 13 Mpx on the A33. By the way, the screen also differs. If the two mobiles benefit from a Super Amoled screen (6.5 inches for the A53 and 6.4 inches for the A33), the refresh rate varies. It is fixed at 90 Hz for the first and 120 Hz for the second.
