In Gabon, the country commemorated yesterday, Friday, August 30, the first anniversary of the military’s rise to power. The day was declared a public holiday. General Brice Oligui Nguema, the country’s strongman who ended 56 years (1967/2023) of Bongo rule following the coup d’état of August 30, 2023, presided over a military parade attended by many Gabonese.
