The Minister of Business and Made in Italy said it, Adolfo Urso, at a press conference in Verona at the end of the first day of the G7 industry ministerial. We were able to restore the G7 on industry and technologies after 7 years of absence, considering it important at this stage challenging geopolitics and geoeconomicsputting industry and technologies back at the center of the agenda of our economies and our countries”

To monitor the progress ofthe chip marketcontinued Urso, “we have created a working group on semiconductors that will become permanent. The objective is to carry it forward not only during the year of the Italian presidency but, as the Canadian minister has already said Francois-Philippe Champagne, even during the loro presidency” which will start in 2025-
“In the first session of the G7, a full convergence of the G7 countries emerged on the idea of increasingly promoting rules between our countries to encourage the homogeneous development of AI, quantum and other emerging technologies”, added Urso. According to the partners at the summit, “greater attention is needed on the involvement of small and medium-sized enterprises, on the technological transfer of SMEs so that they are fully involved, as well as on the commitment that must be profuse for literacy mass awareness of new technologies and professional training for workers”.
During the day, numerous bilaterals were on the agenda of Mimit’s number one: the minister in fact he met gthe representatives of the G7 member countries, as Japan, France and the United Kingdom and also saw the delegation from South Korea.
