The leaders of the seven countries say this in a joint statement after the virtual meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky on the occasion of the first anniversary of the war in Ukraine. “We call on third countries or other international actors who seek to circumvent or weaken our cease to provide material support to the war of Russia or of face serious costs“, reads the document.

Russia is being asked to stop its ongoing aggression and “immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw its troops from the entire internationally recognized territory of Ukraine”.

Furthermore, the G7 remains committed “to coordinating efforts to meet the pressing needs of military and defense equipment of Ukraine, with an immediate focus on air defense systems and capabilities, as well as the necessary munitions and tanks”.

Among the new measures under study, it is desired “prevent Russia from finding new ways to acquire advanced military and industrial materials, technology and equipment from our jurisdictions, which it can use to develop its industrial sectors and promote its violations of international law”.
