Furuviksparken has commissioned the audit firm KPMG to investigate the escape of chimpanzees that occurred at the zoo earlier in December. This is stated by Furuvik in a press release.
KPMG shall, externally, investigate how the escape was able to take place, how the zoo collapsed and how similar incidents are to be avoided in the future. According to Furuvik, the conclusions will be made public when the investigation is complete.
It was on December 14 that five chimpanzees escaped from their enclosures at the zoo. Four of the animals were killed.
