Another lawsuit has been filed in the high-profile gold dispute in Gothenburg.

It was in October that two craftsmen found kilos of gold and platinum in a newly purchased house in Mölndal. The problem is that several different parties consider themselves entitled to the precious metals, which are estimated to be worth around SEK 11 million.

On Thursday, the seller of the house submitted a lawsuit in which he argues that he has ownership rights to the find, which Göteborgs-Posten first reported.

In the past, the estate of the seller’s mother, which includes both the seller and his two siblings, has also sued the other parties. The mother gave the house as a gift to the seller in 2006, but the siblings believe that the hidden gold cannot be considered part of the gift, but should be part of the inheritance left by the mother.

In addition, the artisans believe that they are entitled to the goods according to the Lost Property Act, since the gold’s true owner has not been known within three months of its discovery.

Even the house’s current owners, the comedy duo Carl Déman and Lucas Simonsson, claim the gold because it was found on their property.
