The Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park, Chatham’s newest attraction opened Saturday and it is already a big hit.

“It’s been great,” Flying Squirrel co-founder and chief operating officer Luke Schueler said of the grand opening.
“The very first customers are in having a good time,” he said.
People are impressed with how it turned out, he added.
“We love the color pink so when you walk in here it’s filled with pink, bright colors, good energy and unique attractions that are not around here.”
Imani Smith celebrated the grand opening by having her eighth birthday party at the new attraction.
“It’s very special,” she said of having her birthday party at the Flying Squirrel.
“I like it,” Imani added. “It has lots of fun games and it has an arcade.”
Brent McBride, of Windsor, brought his family to the Flying Squirrel’s grand opening after keeping an eye on the progress for about seven months.

He is impressed with the facility.
“It’s amazing, it’s definitely the best trampoline park we’ve been and we go to a lot of trampoline parks,” McBride said.
He likes the fact the attraction is bright and clean and can see safety is a priority.
“There’s no doubt they go extra mile, every precaution has been taken,” McBride said. “The trampolines are all perfect there are no loose springs anywhere.”
Genevieve Champagne, said was glad the trampoline park opened Saturday, especially since family is visiting from out-of-town for Christmas.
She said it was a great way for the kids to burn off energy before they sat down for dinner and opened gifts.
“It was a nice treat.”
Champagne said Chatham “was due” for this type of attraction.

“I have a six-year-old and a nine-year-old and we always had to leave the city to go do stuff like this,” she said.
Champagne added it is great to have this facility nearby and they can come whenever they want.
“I’m just so overjoyed.”
Local teenagers Reid Michael and Braelen Baylis were having a fun springing high into the air from trampolines to do some impressive slam dunks on the basketball nets.
“It’s pretty good, the trampolines feel nice,” said Michael, 14.
Baylis, 13, said they also enjoyed the tetherball and rock climbing.
“It’s really fun, it gives everyone something to do,” he said about having this kind of facility in Chatham.
