“FÜLÜ”, the wild spirit of groove

FULU the wild spirit of groove

FÜLÜ, “wild spirit” in Swahili, is the name of the first eponymous album from this Toulouse collective. This Brass Band opens the field of all possibilities to music by weaving links between electro, afrobeat, jazz, carnival trance and techno. A super-vitaminous cultural broth, simmered by seven musicians wearing wooden animal masks on stage to tell stories from another world, that of our relationship to the beyond, to the dreamlike. With this first attempt, the group depicts a hybrid, narrative and danceable sound universe. A rare thing in a world of standardization!
