Fully developed house fire in Sandhamn in the Stockholm archipelago

Several people have been taken to hospital after a house fire in Sandhamn.
A major rescue effort is underway and the emergency services are working to prevent the spread.

During Friday, the police, emergency services and ambulance were alerted to a house fire in Sandhamn in the Stockholm archipelago. The maritime police and the Coast Guard were also alerted.

Three people have been taken to hospital.

– It’s a bit unclear, but I assume they were taken by boat or helicopter, says line operator Thomas Skantz.

Great extinguishing work

The police state that they have several pieces of information in connection with fires. “The most important thing is to save lives and limit injuries,” they write on their website. They will also investigate whether any crime is behind the accident.

The emergency services on site have allowed the villa to burn down and are now working with post-extinguishing to prevent the spread. The work is expected to take several hours.

– We are working full time. The forecast says that we will last until 6 p.m., says Thomas Skantz.
