Fukushima water discharge: China suspends imports of Japanese fish

Fukushima water discharge China suspends imports of Japanese fish

Japan began on Thursday August 24 to discharge water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the sea, twelve years after the tsunami which caused a serious accident on the site. This water contains tritium, a radioactive element, but at very low concentrations, well below the limits recommended by the International Atomic Energy Agency, which is reassuring. However, China has suspended all imports of seafood products from Japan.
