“No traffic is flowing on the bridge at this time, from the US side and from the Canadian side,” Point Edward emergency manager Claudio Palleschi said around 11 am

Emergency services responded around 8:45 am, Lambton OPP said in a news release, noting no injuries were reported.

The closure was expected to remain in effect for three to four hours, Lambton OPP said around 10:30 am in the release.

Traffic was being held at the tolls until the spill could be cleaned up and the bridge reopened, Palleschi said.

There was no information immediately available about how much fuel leaked, or what caused the leak.

OPP asked people to adjust travel plans and avoid the area if possible.
