(Telestock) – Mercitalia Logistics (FS Group) continues to support automotive import/export. Mercitalia Rail expands its offer with the transport service of Volkswagen cars from the port of Savona to the Arena Po yard. These are – explains the company in a note – cars produced in Spain and Germany, directed to the Arena Po yard, in the Piacenza area, where they are stored and distributed on the national market. The flow, managed by the company SITFA, after a start-up phase of 3 trains per week, will have 5 trains per week at full capacity, for a total of approximately 50 thousand cars per year.
The services are part of theMercitalia Rail’s offer to support the automotive sector, which in 2023 saw over 2,700 dedicated trains, with a 10% increase on 2022, for a total of approximately 300 thousand vehicles transported.
