(Finance) – The “Sicily Express“, a tourist-experiential train that will cross the Country from Piedmont to Trinacria, recorded the sold out within minutes from being put on sale on the systems. The initiative is promoted by the Department of Infrastructure and Mobility of the Sicilian Region, in collaboration with FS Italian Tourist Trains (FS Group).
With the Christmas holidays approaching, the “Sicilia Express” offers a new way of traveling that combines slow, quality and sustainable tourism with the valorization of the landscapes crossed. During the journey, travelers will have the opportunity to experience a multitude of cultural and gastronomic experiences which celebrate the authenticity of Sicily, thanks to masterclasses, artistic performances and the participation of nationally renowned Sicilian influencers.
The train will leave Saturday 21 December from Turin Porta Nuova station at 3.05pm. Intermediate stops are scheduled in the stations of Novara (16.12), Milan Porta Garibaldi (17.03), Parma (19.10), Modena (19.52), Bologna (20.21), Firenze SMN (21.44), Arezzo (23.16), Roma Tiburtina (01.07) and Salerno (technical stop with possibility of boarding passengers).
The convoy will then cross the Strait of Messina on board the Italian Railway Network (FS Group) ferry and then divide into two sections, one directed to Palermo with stops in Milazzo, Capo d’Orlando, Santo Stefano di C., Cefalù, Termini Imerese, Bagheria and arrival in Palermo Centrale at 1.35pm. The second for Syracuse, however, will stop for passengers to drop off at Taormina/Giardini, Giarre – Riposto, Acireale, Catania C.le, Lentini, Augusta and arrive in Syracuse at 1.15pm.
The return, with experience “Epiphany“, towards Milan and Turin is scheduled for Wednesday 5 January with departure from Palermo/Syracuse scheduled for 3.20pm.
