FS Group RFI launches tender for doubling the Valle Aurelia Vigna

(Finance) – Italian Railway Network, lead company of Infrastructure Hub of the FS Groupfollowing the positive opinion on the project by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Safety and the conclusion of the Services Conference, has started the tender procedure for the awarding of the contract for the executive design and implementation of the intervention doubling of the Valle Aurelia-Vigna Clara section. The contract is worth approximately 30 million euros.The project includes the construction of the track doubling of the current Valle Aurelia-Vigna Clara section, reactivated in June 2022, including all activities relating to civil works, railway superstructure, electric traction systems and other railway technologies. The construction of the new track, in addition to the existing one, will allow us to increase the number of trips and establish a timed metropolitan service.

The intervention to double the Valle Aurelia – Vigna Clara section constitutes the first functional phase (Lot 1A) of the overall intervention “Rome railway ring closure”which aims to strengthen the commercial passenger offer in the Rome hub and create a route to the capital for freight traffic, thus guaranteeing greater accessibility to the railway system.

For the realization of the work he was appointed as new Extraordinary Government Commissioner Gianpiero Strisciuglio, CEO and General Director of RFI.
