(Finance) – After 2022 closed with 10.5 billion contracts awarded and 283 tenders launched for a value of 21 billion for Fry and 4.6 billion contracts awarded and 25 tenders launched 4.6 billion by Anasin 2023 the Infrastructure pole of the gFs group will open construction sites for almost 30 billion. Record numbers also favored by the confirmation in the Budget Law of the compensation mechanisms of the extra costs which will make it possible to overcome the slowdowns recorded in the central part of the first half of the year precisely due to the increases in raw materials and energy which have forced the contracting authorities to adjust the costs of the works and to stop or repeat many tenders. However, the two companies achieved the challenging goals they had set themselves, exceeding the tenders launched in 2021 by a good 10 billion euros (+64%).
However, some remain to be overcome critical issues on the front of planning and dialogue with the territories, but there are excellent signs on the front of authorization where the special committee of the Superior Council of Public Works envisaged by the simplifications decree of 2021 is moving to significantly reduce the times within the framework of the objectives set by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Good news too Via’s opinion which have had a strong acceleration and promise to grow again in 2023 while as regards the transition from the contract to the construction site, the rule of the simplification decrees of 2020 and 2021 which requires work to start within six months is accelerating everything.
Italian railway network has already spent 4.6 billion of the 24.82 that the PNRR. Of these, 3.5 billion have been allocated for the high-speed lines (Terzo valico, Brescia-Verona-Padua, Naples-Bari and Palermo-Catania-Messina) and 1.1 billion for widespread interventions (Ertms electronic systems, network upgrade and stations in the South). This is 18% of total resources, one of the best performances among the investments envisaged by the Plan.
Good signs for 2023 also come from the closure of 2022. In the month of December 46 tenders have been published by Rfi for over 8 billion euros which seem to remove the risk of slowdowns or blocks also for the new year.
