Among all the rumors, there is also a hint that the front camera of the new iPad Air and iPad Pro will be updated. Leaker ShrimpApplePro now confirms these rumors with a report that the iPad Air 6 will get a horizontal front-facing camera.
iPad Air 6 has the same design as the current generation
According to a leak in a post on X, the iPad Air 6 retains almost the same design as the current generation. However, ShrimpApplePro claims that the front camera has been moved to be placed at the top when the iPad is in a horizontal position. Currently, only the entry-level iPad 10 has the camera on top when the iPad is held horizontally or used with the Magic Keyboard Folio.
Earlier this year, 9to5Mac discovered evidence that new iPad Pro models would receive the same treatment in iPadOS 17.4. “During Face ID setup, the iPad must be in a horizontal position with the camera at the top of the screen. A new message in iPadOS 17.4 states that Face ID works in portrait and landscape after installation is complete.
