FromSoftware’s legendary producer Hidetaka Miyazaki announced that the company is not currently working on Elden Ring 2, but the series will continue.
In his interview with Game Watch, Miyazaki said that the team was working on many projects, but Elden Ring 2 was not among them. However, he signaled that the series would continue, saying, “This does not mean that we reject the development of the ‘Elden Ring’ IP.”
It’s Not Elden Ring 2, But Mystery-Full Projects Are Coming
Emphasizing that FromSoftware is carrying out a wide variety of projects as always, the experienced producer said, “There are projects in different variations, so I hope you look forward to them.” Miyazaki, who avoids going into the details of future projects, increases our curiosity by saying, “I think we can present FromSoftware to you in different ways.”
Miyazaki also emphasized that the expansion pack called Shadow of the Erdtree, released in 2024, is not a standalone game as some players think. According to the famous producer, this content was essentially developed as a DLC and was designed to give Elden Ring’s characteristic sense of adventure.
On the other hand, Miyazaki gave the impression that he had taken a step back from his previous statements that Elden Ring 2 was not on their agenda, saying, “There are many things we need to think about in the DLC, so we will evaluate them honestly and sincerely in the next game.” However, it is also among the comments that this may be a translation error and actually refers to FromSoftware’s next game.
It seems that FromSoftware’s new projects, which have been unveiled, and the future of the Elden Ring series, will be among the most talked about topics in the gaming world in the coming period.
