FromSoftware just made the Elden Ring DLC easier because you won’t stop complaining on Steam

The DLC for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, has just received an emergency patch to adjust the difficulty level slightly. The DLC is getting easier, especially in the first half. This may be mainly because the Steam reviews are still pretty mediocre.

This is the situation: The Elden Ring DLC is difficult, too difficult for many. But according to the developers, it has to be that way:

  • Nevertheless, this has a negative impact on the discussion. On Steam, the DLC, which many consider a masterpiece, has a disappointing 69% positive reviews.
  • The catch is that the DLC “Shadow of the Earthtree” uses its own level system and that many players are overlooked, underpowered and slaughtered by the bosses – unless they use OP builds
  • This is the key to strength in the Elden Ring DLC:

Emergency patch makes the first half of the game easier

FromSoftware is now changing that: Today, June 26th, a “mini patch” was released, a calibration update.

The patch will change how the Shadowrealm Blessings scale: The Blessings increase a player’s attack and defense, as well as the strength of their Spirit Ashes when collecting Scadu Tree Fragments and Revered Spirit Ashes.

The idea that the blessings now make your journey easier in the first half of the game – but change the balance less in the second half of the DLC:

  • This should make the first bosses much easier
  • The later bosses are at least a little easier
  • The patch is not a big deal, but is seen as just a small balancing update, an “emergency update” so to speak.

A patch with bug fixes and features will come later.
