Elden Ring and difficulty is a subject that comes up again and again, especially on social networks. If Hidetaka Miyazaki’s apostles have lost all form of objectivity since the DLC “Shadow of the Erdtree” was released, others on the other hand do not hesitate to point out the balancing issues in this expansion which has unfortunately become Sekiro-ized. It took a while, but FromSoftware finally admits the lack of balancing in its overall gameplay, against certain bosses too, like Radahn consort of Miquella, the final boss and his absolutely abused attacks. The Japanese studio so decided to fix that. A patch, 1.14has been rolled out and here’s what’s changing now.

Final Boss Balance Adjustments
The following adjustments have been made to the final boss of “SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE”

Changed the action pattern at the start of combat.
Adjusted some attack moves.
Reduced damage of some attacks.
Reduced stamina damage from some attacks.
Reduced the attack range of some non-weapon based attacks.
Improved visibility of some attack effects.

PvP-exclusive balance adjustments
Equipment
Reduced the damage of Backhand Blades against other players. (Smithscript Circus throw attacks are not affected by this change)
Reduced damage of dual-wielding Spear attacks against other players.
Reduced Pata weapon damage against other players.
The “Scatterbow” weapon will no longer cause the headshot damage move when hitting another player.

Scattered fire launch

Reduced damage against other players.
This skill will no longer cause headshot damage when hitting another player.

Discus throw
The damage animation value generated by this skill when hitting another player has been reduced.

Grass cutter
The balance value of follow-up attacks when using this skill against other players has been reduced.

Increased the attack speed of the uncharged version of the first heavy attack for the following weapon types:

Dagger / Throwing Blade / Straight Sword / Great Sword / Colossal Sword / Heavy Thrusting Sword / Curved Sword / Double-Blade Sword / Katana / Great Katana / Axe / Flail / Great Spear (except Snake Hunter) / Halberd / Reaper / Whip (except Urumi) / Melee Arts / Beast Claws.

After performing off-hand attacks with weapons of the Grand Katana category, canceling subsequent attacks using the right-hand weapon will now take longer.

Increased Rellana’s Twin Blade attribute scaling for lower Intelligence and Faith attributes.

Increased Frenzy status stack range against enemies.
Decreased Frenzy status accumulation increase when using this skill.

Bayle’s Flame Flash

Attack power increased.
