Maureen gets her inspiration for the work from the Lombok area, with its large Islamic community and many pigeons. “People are a theme in my work, I think it’s important that they recognize themselves in my work.” And is it a dove of peace? “No,” is the answer. “It’s not political, I just make something beautiful.”
