Starting today, you can get a special toy in World of Warcraft. But you only have a short time before the toy disappears again.
World of Warcraft is banging on about the hype and is starting some promotions to promote patch 10.1 Embers from Neltharion. Even if it doesn’t start until tomorrow, May 3rd, 2023, there is already a nice reward to be won that collectors have been craving for many years.
What is this toy? The “Translucent Portal” toy acts as a hearthstone and even saves you an inventory space – because you don’t have to have this hearthstone in your pocket, it ends up in your toy collection. The animation is what sets it apart though, as when you use the translucent portal, just as technical-looking portal is summoned that ultimately teleports you away.
The portal is based on the astral teleportation networks that first appeared in The Burning Crusade.
The toy was originally part of the “Warcraft Trading Card Game” and was available there as a rare “loot card”. However, the game has been discontinued for many years and the loot cards were traded on internet platforms for several hundred euros.
How do you get the toy? In order to get the toy, you need to connect your Battle.net account to the Twitch account and then watch 4 hours of WoW content in the corresponding period.
It doesn’t matter whether you really “watch” or just let the stream run in the background or even silently. If you only want the reward, simply set the stream to silent and come back after 4 hours.
How much time do you have? You have to hurry, because the promotion only lasts for a few days. From May 2 (7:00 p.m.) to May 10 (8:59 a.m.) you have time to watch a total of 4 hours of WoW content on Twitch. Make sure you’re watching a channel (or channels) that have Drops enabled.
Don’t forget to claim the toy in time for it to be unlocked in WoW.
Then, starting May 9th, there will be another reward – a fiery mount.
