From the makers of one of the best cyberpunk games comes a new Blade Runner game

Stray, one of the best cyberpunk games of recent years, was released in 2022. Now the makers have announced a Blade Runner game.

In 2022, the US development studio Annapurna Games was able to inspire the world with the cat game “Stray” and collected tons of positive reviews on Steam. There were also two awards for best indie debut and best indie game at the Game Awards 2022.

In Stray, you, as a cat, stray through a gloomy and musty city lit by colorful neon lights. On the search for your cat family, you will then encounter a wide variety of modern and futuristic technology, including a drone that will accompany you from now on and help you on your journey.

Now Annapurna has announced that the studio is working on a game set in the universe of the sci-fi film Blade Runner and its sequel Blade Runner 2049.

The first Blade Runner game in 25 years

What game is this going to be? Annapurna’s Blade Runner game will be called Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth and will be set between the events of the films Blade Runner (1992) and Blade Runner 2049 (first airing 2017).

The game’s story is set in a dystopian Los Angeles in 2033, according to Annapurna. What exactly the game is about is not yet known.

Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth will be the first Blade Runner game in 25 years and will be released on both PC and console.

What is the Blade Runner universe about? Blade Runner or the film’s novel, “Do Androids Dream of Electrical Sleep?”, is considered one of the pioneers of the cyberpunk genre.

The 1982 film tells the story of blade runner Rick Deckard, played by Harrison Ford. Blade Runners are a type of bounty hunters who specialize in tracking down and eliminating artificial humans (androids) called “replicants”.

Possessing greater physical strength than humans and some possessing high intelligence, these replicants are doomed to die after a four-year life cycle.

However, as replicants begin to develop feelings during their lifetime, the line between android and human becomes increasingly blurred. In the sequel from 2017 there are also misproductions of the replicants, which can lead an infinite life.

In a recent interview, “Blade Runner” star Harrison Ford stated that he loves his job and will continue to pursue his career:

“Indiana Jones” can’t bear the thought of retirement, explains why he’s still working at 81
