Susijeng players Elias Valtonen and Severi Kaukiainen scored 11 points to a man in Sunday’s round.
by Alexander Madsen Lleida, represented by Lleida, played its first home basketball match in the Spanish premier league and lost to the big club Barcelona 74–78. Madsen collected six points and took three rebounds in the 14 minutes he played.
Elias Valtonen didn’t get playing time in the opening round but was in Granada’s opener when the team lost to Unicaja 68–84 in their home game. Valtonen, who played more than 24 minutes on Sunday, scored eleven points and grabbed two rebounds with seven shots. The Finnish man sank the triples with a good aim 3/4. Like Lleida, Granada have lost their first two league matches in the Spanish ACB league.
Mikael Jantunen led by Paris Basketball beat La Rochelle 84–75 in the French basketball series. Jantunen was responsible for more than 20 minutes, threw only twice in the game and had five points, three rebounds and four assists. Paris B has won two of its three opening games in the series.
Severi Kaukiainen BC Kalev/Cramo defeated Latvijas Universitaten 81–76 in the Latvian-Estonian basketball league. Kaukiainen was responsible for almost 27 minutes, during which time he bagged eleven points, grabbed one rebound and distributed five assists that led to the basket. His plus/minus number was +13.
