The oldest fair in the Netherlands was possibly 1000 years ago in the province of Utrecht. In Wijk bij Duurstede to be precise. At least that’s what Wikipedia says. Now this online encyclopedia is not the most reliable source, but according to the fair page of the online encyclopedia, the first fair was held in the Utrecht town 1000 years ago, in the year 1023. Can that be correct?.
