The upcoming vote, initiated by the Center Party, is based on the fact that the opposition has lost confidence in the government’s climate policy.
The announcement came after the Tidö parties presented their climate action plan in December.
Both V and MP have supported the motion of no confidence.
– The mistrust was very much expected, and would probably have come regardless of how the climate action plan looked because the government’s policy increases emissions, says Elisabeth Marmorstein, domestic political commentator on SVT.

Romina Pourmokhtari grew up in Sundbyberg, cheers for the football club AIK, and wrote an autobiography at the age of 26. But above all, she is Sweden’s climate and environment minister – a post she got after only about three years as chairman of the Liberala ungdomsförbundet.
Her CV includes education in political science courses at Uppsala University, county council secretary and board member for RFSU. She received the assignment as climate and environment minister in 2022.
