From pizza delivery person to one of the biggest German Twitch streamers: Trymacs’ career

Maximilian Alexander Curt Stemmler has been on Twitch and YouTube under the name Trymacs since 2016. He is known for his obscenity, his likeable nature and Pay2Win content. But how did it all actually start? You can find out about this on MeinMMO.

Trymacs is one of the best-known names in the German Twitch scene. The Hamburg native self-deprecatingly calls himself a “streamer without skill,” and critics criticize his Pay2Win content. Fans, on the other hand, love him for his likeable but foolish nature and his creative events.

Trymacs could hardly have dreamed that he would one day earn money as an influencer when he started creating content on Twitch and YouTube alongside his studies. He now regularly entertains tens of thousands of viewers and can afford a stylish apartment and expensive cars.

We’ll show you how it all started.

“Uncle Monte” also started small – you can see the beginnings of MontanaBlack here:

Pizza, mobile games and a lot of ambition

How did it all start? Compared to colleagues like Gronkh or Unge, Trymacs joined the German scene relatively late: when he published his first content in March 2016, the two had already been there for 5 or 6 years. There’s a reason for that: Trymacs didn’t have a PC at all until he was 20.

Trymacs then got into streaming through the mobile game Clash Royale, which is still an integral part of his content today. Contrary to his current reputation as a Pay2Win streamer, the student at the time did not put any money into the game and instead impressed with his playing skills.

Trymacs taught himself everything, watching tutorials on YouTube and editing his own videos. With his guides, he quickly made a name for himself in the community, which was still quite small at the time.

The content creator took a methodical approach from the outset; he had already dealt with the marketing aspects of an influencer career during his studies. He managed to amass half a million subscribers on his YouTube channel within a year.

The now 29-year-old initially didn’t have any great ambitions: while he was studying, Trymacs delivered pizza for €250 a month. His goal was to earn enough money from streaming to be able to quit his job. Today he has his own pizza chain.

On Twitch, Trymacs already reached an average of 6,000 viewers at the end of 2026. He shared his secrets to success on his short-lived second channel “The Art of Content Creation” on YouTube.

Fortnite, loot boxes and Pay2Win

How did Trymacs get big? Over the years, Trymacs’ channels grew steadily. In 2017, he once again demonstrated a skillful hand in choosing his content, as the streamer got into Fortnite, which replaced Clash Royale as his most-shown game the following year (via SullyGnome).

The colorful PUBG clone was initially not well received by its fans. However, Trymacs stuck to it and continued playing Fornite, which was to experience huge hype this year. Later the long-running favorite Minecraft was added.

The really big success on Twitch came in 2021: This year Trymacs set several records. At the beginning of the year, he reached up to 187,000 simultaneous viewers with Pokémon openings and became the most subscribed streamer worldwide. Joint projects with other streamers gave him additional boost.

The football game FIFA has now also taken up a larger place in Trymacs streams. Here too he sunk huge amounts of money into packs. As a “Pay2Win streamer”, Trymacs saw his expenses as an investment in his content – because he easily recouped the money through subs, sponsorships and advertising.

However, there was increasing criticism of this type of content: Even Jan Böhmermann railed on ZDF against streamers like Trymacs and MontanaBlack, who were essentially advertising loot boxes with their FIFA streams.

Trymacs initially rationalized his approach: He was showing his viewers how infinitesimal the chances were and how incredibly much money you had to put into the game to get good cards.

However, he later reformed, uninstalled FIFA in the stream and said goodbye to his expensive team. However, Trymacs emphasized that he was only concerned with the gambling elements – “normal” Pay2Win was still okay for him.

And what is he doing today? In principle, Trymacs has remained true to its beginnings to this day. There are still a lot of mobile games and Fortnite to see on his channels.

In addition, the streamer has made a name for himself with elaborate and creative events: from sports events to food challenges to LAN parties with his streamer buddies, Trymacs always comes up with something to entertain his viewers.

The 29-year-old is always good for a surprise: For example, when he showed on the survival show 7 vs. Wild that content creators can also survive outside of their streaming rooms.

Even though Trymacs is still a bit “lost”, it seems as if he has now found his way.
