As many as 5,000 new trees have been planted in the Rif region in the past month, says Aziz Kaouass. The chairman and founder of the Riforest foundation from Zeist lists: “Olive, fig, pomegranate, grape, carob tree, almond, quince, Japanese medlar and mulberry.” These tree species can withstand drought well. They are therefore suitable for planting in the Moroccan Rif region.
