The return machines at the station are similar to those in the supermarket, but there is an important difference. “By scanning a QR code, you will almost immediately receive a 15 cent deposit into your account via the Tikkie app. For a larger bottle you will receive 25 cents,” says a spokesperson for NS. “It is also possible to donate the deposit to the Plastic Soup Foundation, an organization that fights against plastic pollution.”
