From December 20, a new SNCF line will connect Montparnasse station to this famous historic site, very popular with French people and tourists.
The French are regularly looking for getaways for vacations or for an exotic or romantic weekend. As a family or as a couple, this popular French destination will now be more easily accessible. Indeed, the SNCF is opening a new direct train line, available from December 20, 2024. No more hassle to rediscover this jewel of French heritage!
To reach this monument, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, simply take a Nomad train from Montparnasse station in Paris to Pontorson. A shuttle will then take you to… Mont-Saint-Michel and drop you off 350m from the entrance to the village. All for a price of only 29 euros per ticket (with the shuttle included in the price). Those who take the train from a Normandy station will pay only 20 euros.
An interesting offer since until now, getting to Mont-Saint-Michel was not really practical. This offer, implemented every weekend (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays), will complement the Nomad coach offer which has linked the capital to this unique site in the world since October, with a connection during the week, from Monday to Friday. .
However, be careful when making your reservation: you will need to indicate Mont-Saint-Michel as your destination at the time of purchase! “If you choose Pontorson Mont St Michel, the price will then be 26 euros and access to the shuttle will not be guaranteed.”specifies the SNCF.
The opportunity to visit the medieval Abbey, a major place of pilgrimage from the 8th to the 18th century and an architectural masterpiece, to observe the rising tide in the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, to tour the ramparts to gain height and admire the magnificent landscapes.
