Quick-help Reetta Hurskeella is below the best opening of the season.

In May, Hurske ran the third (12.92) and fourth (12.94) hardest times of his career so far in the 100-meter fences.

– I could expect good results in the early summer. There were good workouts in the spring. At a camp abroad, I did good running training, which can’t be done in the hall, Hurske tells Urheilu.

Until a few months ago, Hurskee’s mind was on the ground. Hurske went to the World Championships with great goals, but had to miss 60 meters due to a real coronavirus infection.

– During the reign, everything was aimed at there. Yes, it cried there, Hurske recalls skipping the race.

The pious would have had a great seam to succeed.

The Tampere runner ran a record 7.93 before the World Championships. He would have been fourth at the World Cup at this time. The bronze was taken by the United States Gabriele Cunningham at a time of 7.87.

– Annoyed to look at the results, Hurske admits.

Still to do

The good results of the reign period paved the way for a successful training season and a great May.

– I want to run a record, win the Finnish Championship gold and run in the European Championship finals, Hurske will load his goals for the season.

The World Cup will be held in the United States in July, with the European Championships taking place in August in Germany. Hurske has a broken European limit of 12.93 – the World Cup limit is 12.84. It doesn’t necessarily have to be run if you get into the race through rankings.

The record for Hurske is 12.78 in 2019.

Next time, Hurske will compete in the Tampere GP on Wednesday, June 1.

Hurske believes that hundreds of parts can be taken away from the best time of the season – just from the start. Hurske is known as a hard starter.

– Now in the spring, the first couple of fences have not become as hard as before.

Instead, the final draw passes.

– The last 40 meters run better. My power levels have risen and I manage to maintain the technology better until the end. It feels like the seams are anywhere.

Hurske is not worried, although the start-up acceleration in the early part of the year has not been as stagnant as in previous years.

He has been coaching piety for a long time Marjukka Suihko. Hurske was for a while Antti Haapakoski under coaching, but the authentic changed back to Suihko last year.

Hurske explains why the Haapakoski wash was short-lived.

– During the hall season of 2021, I was intact and healthy, and the run did not run. I didn’t get the power out.

Hurske’s super year was 2019. Even then, the hall season was great, and Hurske ran fourth in the European Championships.

The athlete says he took a model from his summer training three years ago.

– Fortunately, Marjukka wanted to continue my coaching. 2019 was a good hall season and a good summer season. We returned to that year’s training program.
