From books to bills: autumn sting coming

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Once the holidays have been archived, upon returning, very nasty surprises await the families: in fact, a black autumn for families, who will have to face a blow of 2,924.70 euros, a good 252.92 euros more than in autumn 2022 (in which the wave of price increases had already begun). The estimate, like every year, comes by the ONF – Federconsumatori National Observatorywho calculated the amount of the autumn sting.

These are extremely expensive figures, but the sad calculation does not stop there: we cannot fail to calculate, especially this year, given the strong increases, the expenses for two fundamental sectors such as wingsment and fuel. If we add to the amount of the sting these expenditure items, the total amounts to 5,104.90 euros from September to November, 480.12 euros more than in 2022.

The items of expenditure that families will have to deal with do not only concern school supplies, but also bills (on which the increase in electricity and gas expected for the fourth quarter of the year weighs heavily), the TARI, heating costs. Not to mention the cost of food and petrol, the costs of which have skyrocketed, not always in a justified way, as we have repeatedly noted.

In the highly difficult situation in which families find themselves, for many, these costs will be unsustainable. Especially for those who also have to deal with the increase in mortgage installments. The Federconsumatori National Observatory underlines how this sting also “risks a severe blow to our economic system, hitting consumption and the entire production system. This is why it is “it is urgent that the Government take measures, adopting measures capable of supporting families and containing price increases”.
