Frölunda was rumored to be close to a real dream reinforcement.
But now comes new, heavy tasks.
– He hasn’t said anything to me, says Genève-Servette’s sporting director.

Frölunda is having a hard time in the SHL right now. With 18 games played, the Gothenburg team has only recorded 26 points, and with that they are in eighth place in the SHL. But the distance down to Oskarshamn in the negative qualifying place is only six points, and IKO has also played two fewer games.

Stated close to prestige acquisition

The team has been seen by many for its weak start to the season, but last week there was news that gave some positive glimmers of light. According to Expressen, Frölunda was then close to a dream signing for next season, in the form of Henrik Tömmernes. Backen won gold with Frölunda a few years ago, but has dominated away in Switzerland for six straight seasons.

But according to Expressen, Tömmernes and Frölunda were in advanced negotiations about a return, and Frölunda even confirmed that there was interest. Should Frölunda be signed, the Swedish star will be one of the SHL’s best defenders, as in recent seasons he has scored 194 points in 235 games in Switzerland and the team Geneve-Servette.

The new nightmare message

This season, Tömmernes has accounted for 18 points in 20 games, but now comes information that Frölunda did not want to hear. Tömmernes has an expiring contract, but his Swiss club has not given up hope of keeping the Swedish star. That’s what the club’s sporting director Marc Gautschi Gregory Beaud says now.

– At the moment, he has not informed me that he is going to Sweden. We see each other every day and still talk, he told Blick, according to HockeyNews.

Henrik Tömmernes left Frölunda in 2017, after accounting for 121 points in 282 games in the SHL. Frölunda already has back stars Christian Folin and Andreas Borgman in their squad, and with Henrik Tömmernes you would get one of the absolute best back sides in the entire SHL.
