Before Tuesday’s meeting with Timrå, Frölunda had seven straight losses against Timrå.
– The ghosts are scared away by calling the Ghostbusters, our Ghostbusters are our coaching team, I think, said Roger Rönnberg to TV4 before the match.
It looked like neither the Ghostbusters, Rönnberg nor the Frölunda players could scare away the Timrå ghost in Scandinavium this Tuesday.
Filip Hållander scored Timrå’s lead goal after barely 18 minutes of play. Hållander would also become a two-goal scorer when he stepped up in the third period.
But Frölunda got up late and the match was to be decided by a penalty shootout when Mikael Ruohomaa first reduced and with nine seconds left Carl Klingberg equalised.
In the penalty shootout, Mikael Ruohomaa stepped forward and decided. Frölunda thus took their eighth straight home victory.
