Frölunda is looking for forwards for next season.
Now the SHL team has identified a dream name that they want.

There was never a SC final this spring for Frölunda, who fell in the semi-finals against future champion team Växjö Lakers. Now the work is in full swing to build an even more impactful team for the upcoming SHL season.
Frölunda hunts
The sports manager Fredrik Sjöström working intensively during the summer to hunt for new acquisitions and forwards are on the wish list. There will be at least one, but there could also be as many as three new acquisitions in the offensive line.

The club’s big dream signings have now been identified and it is about the former golden hero Andreas Johnson, reports SportExpressen. The 28-year-old left Frölunda after the SM gold in 2016 and has since played in North America for seven seasons.

Dream signing
There have been 116 points and 259 games in the NHL for the teams Toronto Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils and San Jose Sharks. There have also been some changes in the farm league and a total of 131 points in 165 games in the AHL.

But right now the future looks highly uncertain for Johnsson, who is without a contract on the free agent market starting at the beginning of July. Then Frölunda hopes that they will succeed in persuading the Swedish forward to return to Gothenburg again.
– We have an ongoing dialogue, says sports manager Sjöström to the evening newspaper and confirms that they are in contact with the player.

According to the newspaper’s information, Frölunda is ready with a lucrative multi-year contract to make Andreas Johnsson a key player for a long time. But the 28-year-old’s priority is still to get a new NHL contract, if that doesn’t happen, Frölunda mostly attracts a move outside North America.
– We’ll see in July, replies Fredrik Sjöström brutally honestly.
