Fritz Meinecke signs off on new production: “It’s a complete lie and misinformation”

In his latest “Reaction” to the making of 7 vs. Wild Season 3, format founder Fritz Meinecke (34) expresses sharp criticism. In the “Behind the Scenes” things are misrepresented and embellished.

What format is it? Even before the third season of 7 vs. Wild starts on YouTube, there is the series “Behind the Scenes” where fans can get an insight behind the scenes. The current episode of the format is about the participants’ arrival and the crisis, which is why season 3 was almost canceled.

At the weekend, the series’ creator, Fritz Meinecke, published his React for a look behind the scenes. However, he does not agree with the portrayal.

One of the participants in season 3 is the Twitch streamer Jens “Knossi” Knossalla. You can see more about him in our video.

Fritz Meinecke: “That’s simply a lie”

According to Fritz Meinecke, what was misrepresented? Fritz Meinecke says in his React that he was told from the beginning that the participating teams could have a campfire there as normal. There would be permission from the First Nations who own the area where the filming took place.

In the making of season 3, however, it was said that they always wanted to use a so-called bush box. A bush box is a type of fire bowl that makes a controlled fire easier.

“That’s a complete lie and misinformation.”

According to Meinecke, it is not correct that the changes in the laws are the reason for the Bush Box. According to Meinecke, the production company did not get the permission in writing and the First Nations then changed their mind.

Why are there so many problems with production this year? According to an entry in the commercial register, Fritz Meinecke sold the 7 vs. Wild brand to “CaliVision”. According to Fritz Meinecke’s statement video, this step was taken some time ago because the pressure and costs for production could no longer be met.

He made this decision to give the fans and himself a third season. Meinecke says he is a 99% participant and has almost no decision-making power over the series. Fritz Meinecke is not the only one who expressed such negative comments about the production; Papaplatte would also “under no circumstances” take part in 7 vs. Wild again.

This important moment is missing from the “Behind the Scenes” The “7 vs. Wild founder” is visibly surprised in React by the depiction of events and the timeline shown in the making-of. It is missing the so-called fire briefing, which took place before the events shown in the video and was the actual trigger for the crisis.

“There is now the fire briefing. And then we are shown a gas grill. With a gas cartridge, with an orange tarpaulin, we are laid out and explained to us how it works.”

At that moment, Fritz and his team partner Survival Mattin probably thought the whole thing was a joke. But disillusionment quickly came, the gas grill was the only solution to make a fire, since a grill is not legally an open fire.

How did the two-time 7 vs. Wild winner react to the gas grill? Fritz Meinecke was stunned, as he reveals in React. He simply refused to celebrate the new season with a gas grill. According to his statement, the meeting shown in the video took place at which a postponement of the suspension by one day was discussed. At that time they wanted to find an alternative solution.

Which item was not shown? Because open fire was not possible at the filming location, the teams were ultimately given a set of items to ensure safe fire. According to Fritz Meinecke, the making of the successful series lacks a grill lighter, which all teams had in their fire kit without their prior knowledge. So the candidates were ignored, but a solution was chosen that weakened the true character of the survival show.

This may also be the reason why there were no photographs of the objects. At least the secret about the bottles has now been revealed.
