It was reported that the landing gear of Etihad Airways’ Boeing 787 type aircraft, flight EY461, which was preparing to take off to Abu Dhabi, caught fire and its tires burst at Melbourne Airport.
In the statement made by Melbourne Airport, it was stated that the incident caused delays in departures and arrivals, but aviation rescue and fire services intervened quickly. While the 271 passengers on the plane were taken to the terminal by buses, repair work began on the runway.
Etihad Airways apologized for the inconvenience and noted that the safety and comfort of passengers and crew were their priorities. (DHA)
