Frida’s little brother was shot to death

19-year-old Mousa went home from a dinner in a community hall – but never arrived.
Instead, he became one of the 62 people shot dead last year.
– He dreamed of working with children and making a difference, says older sister Frida Chamoun in Efter fem.

It is on April 5, 2022 that Frida Chamoun receives a call from her relative. The relative asks what she is doing, she replies that she is at university writing an essay. Then the relative falls silent, but Frida feels that there is something she wants to say.

– I can hear in her voice that there is something she wants to say, but can’t manage to do it, she says in Efter fem.

Finally, the relative tells us that Frida’s little brother is said to have been shot in Norsborg, near their home.

– Then it turns black. The next memory is that I am sitting in the car and on my way there. I’m trying to hold out hope that it’s not that bad.

Not criminally involved

Last spring, three people were sentenced for Mousa’s murder. One of them grew up on the same farm as Mousa and Frida. When she sees them in the courtroom, the emotions are strong:

– I feel anger, hatred and a feeling of: can you be more let down than you have been?

The prosecutor concluded that he was not criminally involved, but was mistaken for someone else. The verdict describes the murder as a cold-blooded execution.

Hope to make a difference

Today, Frida talks about her brother with the hope of making a difference.

– Maybe I can make a difference, if people hear me speak. That they can get an alarm clock. What are we doing and where does it lead – is it worth it?
