Frida Karlsson’s wonderful message that makes all Swedes long for this weekend’s skiing premiere: “It’s great”

Now it’s getting closer!
This weekend it’s finally time for the ski premiere and someone is really loaded.
– It will be great fun, admits a radiantly happy Frida Karlsson.

The Swedish biathletes had their season premiere last weekend. Now it’s time for the cross-country skiers to do the same this weekend when it’s time for the Swedish premiere in Gällivare.

On Friday, everything kicks off with sprint races, then distance races on Saturday and freestyle on Sunday. The Swedish skiing star Frida Karlsson is already in place at Hellnerstadion in Gällivare and she is really busy with the new ski season.
– These are super conditions. It will be great fun to put on the number plate and start competing again, says Frida in a press release.

The Swedish national ski team is in place from Monday for a four-day training camp ahead of the premier competitions.
– Being able to train on real snow in this wonderful winter landscape feels really inspiring, I feel great here, says a radiantly happy Karlsson.

“Is challenging”

Ahead of a championship-free season where the World Cup is the big goal, the 24-year-old is most looking forward to the sprint on Friday.
– If you want to be able to assert yourself in the competition for the overall victory in the World Cup, you have to ride well in the sprint, and if I am going to take a place in the sprint team for the World Cup premiere in Ruka, it is important to perform well in the Gällivare premiere, says Frida ahead of the weekend.
– I certainly hope that the Gällivare premiere will give me a receipt that I’m standing where I thought I would be so that I can start the World Cup season with low shoulders. The self-confidence is great, I have skied well in Gällivare in previous years, there are challenging courses with both tough uphill slopes and fast downhill runs where you have to keep up and pedal around on the skis.

But it is not just a new ski season that we will see, but new for this year is that it will also be completely fluoride-free.
– There is great uncertainty and concern among skiers and leaders before the premiere of fluoride-free, not least in view of the washing of the Norwegian women’s skier in the alpine premiere, but we will offer test measurement of skis from Tuesday. Our stated goal is to help the skiers turn red skis green before the season premiere, not to put people there. I am convinced that this will go very well, says Mats Eklund, newly appointed operations manager in Gällivare and fluoride coordinator for the Swedish Skiing Association, in a press release.
