Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist had a successful skiing weekend.
But now the unknown drama that could have ruined everything is revealed.

The World Cup in cross-country skiing was decided in Canmore, Canada over the weekend and it was a new Swedish success. Remarkable for the weekend’s competitions was that everyone on the podium each got their own cowboy hat and boat Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist were rewarded with each.
Karlsson’s success
Dahlqvist took his second consecutive second place in the sprint on Saturday evening. And on Sunday evening, Karlsson did even better by winning the mass start.

It’s Frida’s second straight World Cup victory at 20 km and it makes her historic as the first woman in skiing history to succeed. But it could have gone much, much worse for the Swedish duo and now the unknown drama is revealed in Canada.
Frida’s blood bath
During the week in Canmore, the worst thing happened when Frida and Maja were training together.
– The blood just flowed, admits Karlsson in an interview with Expressen.
– It was pure carnage here at the stadium! Afterwards, everyone wondered what had happened.

But what actually happened? Maja Dahlqvist reveals the whole truth about the blood drama. When she happened to run the pole into the head of the national team colleague during a practice run.
– I “spitted” her straight in the face. I thought at first I just hit the hand – but then I noticed that there was no one behind me anymore. Damn it, says Dahlqvist to the evening newspaper.
– It was a bloodbath. Then I got a bit of a stomach ache and a guilty conscience. It was a small rescue effort – but thankfully it looked worse than it was.

Dahlqvist had to plaster Karlsson immediately and the victim has forgiven the close friend after the accident.
– This is the kind of thing that happens when it’s bone skating and everyone just cranks the poles, says Frida in the interview.
