Russian athletes are welcomed back to again.
Which has caused the entire sports world to react strongly.
Now Frida Karlsson also gives an unexpected answer to the sensitive question.
Last Friday came the surprising announcement that the International Olympic Committee, IOC, is welcoming Russian and Belarusian back to sport again. A real reversal after the ban to stop all of them due to Russia’s offensive warfare against Ukraine.

Although the war is far from over, it is now clear that Russians and Belarusians will be allowed to compete under a neutral flag during the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The decision has caused strong reactions around the entire sports world over the weekend and many think it is completely wrong to lift the ban.

There has been a big debate about Russian athletes in the last year and after the IOC’s criticized decision there is a risk that more federations and sports may follow suit. In the skiing world in particular, there have been large protests against continuing to ban Russian skiers from the World Cup.
Frida’s answer
But in the new SVT program “Kallprat” so guests Frida Karlsson and then the Swedish ski star comes up with an unexpected answer to the sensitive question. “You miss Russia in the World Cup? In other words, to compete against Russian skaters”, asks the presenter Johan Kücükaslan.
– Yes, I still miss the riders. I do. They are good skaters. But as it looks right now, the situation is a no, she says in response in the TV program.
