Frida Karlsson has not bought Therese Johaug’s new book.
She has no plans to do that either.
– I hope I get a free copy, she says.
Therese Johaug is one of the most successful cross-country skiers of all time, and it was with great excitement that she announced in the spring that her career is over. Johaug recently came off an Olympics where she was completely dominant, and she really finished on the top of her career.
Mentioned 30(!) times
Johaug has always been an athlete who attracts headlines. When she was banned for doping in 2018, she was one of the most talked about athletes in Sweden, and that has continued even when she came back. Recently, Therese Johaug released a book called “The whole story”, and in it many Swedes are mentioned, and perhaps above all Frida Karlsson.
The fact is that, according to Expressen, Karlsson is mentioned a total of 30 times in the book, not least in the passage where Karlsson defeated Johaug on her home ground in Holmenkollen in 2020. But Karlsson tells the newspaper that she had no idea that she would be mentioned in the book.
– In that case, I hope I get a free copy in the mailbox, says Karlsson.

The pass to Johaug
However, Frida Karlsson still hasn’t read Johaug’s book, but she doesn’t deny that she has been tempted. But there is a catch. Karlsson does not want to buy the book.
– Only if I get it for free will I read it, she says.
Expressen has also spoken to Therese Johaug, and she says directly that Karlsson will receive a copy. Johaug is an expert for NRK in the coming season, and will then be seen at some competitions.
– She will have it signed. I will write that it is for Frida, says Therese Johaug.
